Lake County, Illinois, Family Law Divorce Attorney

Experienced Lake Country Family Law Attorney
For more than 24 years, I have helped families resolve complex disputes. I focus on providing my clients with a tailored approach in an effort to understand their needs and long-term goals. My extensive experience has helped me effectively negotiate emotionally-draining legal issues, such as:
- Property division
- Child custody
- Child support and visitation
- Alimony and spousal support
As a family law attorney, I also have a strong background working with clients to protect their assets. I begin this by evaluating the assets you owned before getting married. For example, if you bought property or invested in stocks and bonds, I will negotiate to help you keep those investments. If you have a trust, I will review it to understand how the assets can be protected for the beneficiary.
Certified Lake County Arbitration Attorney
If you are looking to avoid the long, drawn-out legal process that can divide families, arbitration might be a valuable option for you. As an alternative to battling in court, arbitration provides a cost-effective way for couples to resolve contested issues.
For more than 24 years, I have been a certified arbitrator in Illinois. If both parties agree to an arbitration hearing, each side will meet with me in a private setting along with their attorney to discuss pressing issues, such as property division, child custody and alimony.
As a certified arbitrator, I will facilitate the conversation, providing each side the opportunity to explain their needs and concerns. This is a specific form of alternative dispute resolution that will result in a binding resolution. Similar to a court hearing, the arbitrator's ruling can be appealed.
